One wouldn't think that a little trailer flashing vehicle speeds to motorists would affect traffic.
But it does.
Windom Police Chief Scott Peterson says speeds do not always drop in areas where the radar trailer is in use, but it can have that effect and it gives officers valuable of information on where to patrol and when.
"We paid about $6,000 for it and that includes the trailer," Peterson said. "I had some experience with these down in Iowa and I know they are an effective tool."
