It is not yet a sure thing, but River Bend Liquor in Windom could very well be open Sundays starting in July.
Manager Joe Audette told Citizen Online today that his current plan is for the store to be open on a trial basis. However, he was quick to add that the Windom city council makes the final decision on the city-owned store's hours.
The recently approved state legislation allows liquor stores to be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Audette said that while many stores are cutting back to fewer hours to accommodate employee shifts, he will recommend that the store be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
"What some of us are talking about is testing it out for two or three months to see how it (Sunday hours) goes," Audette said. For more on this story, see the March 22 Cottonwood County Citizen and Citizen eEdition.
