Sherman defeats Cooley in alderman-at-large election

Jayesun Sherman has defeated Brian Cooley in a special election for Windom's vacant alderman-at-large seat.

According to tonight's count by Windom election judges, Sherman received 134 votes, to Cooley's 92. There were no write-in votes.

Head election judge Denise Nichols remarked that it was not a heavy turnout for an election in which all of Windom's 2,365 registered voters were eligible to vote. Incidentally, there was one new registration in today's election.
