3/13/2017 9:08:00 AM Windom residents shovel out after heavy snowfall
The sound of snow blowers filled the air this morning, as area residents cleared an eight-inch snowfall from their driveways.
It began snowing early Sunday afternoon and the light snow kept coming until well into the morning. Fortunately, the snowfall was paired with little wind, allowing area schools to operate today. However, most schools in the area started two hours late. Jackson County Central Schools closed for the day.
The snow could stick around for a few days, if the National Weather Service forecast is correct. THe NWS calls for a high temperature of 21 degrees over the next two days and temperatures below freezing through much of the week. The next chance for snow in the Windom area is Thursday, according to the NWS.
