Geronimo announces plans for new wind farm in region

Geronimo Energy announced today plans for a major wind farm in the region.

Titled "the Odell Wind Farm," this operation is a 200 megawatt wind energy facility in Jackson, Watonwan and Cottonwood Counties. The project will consist of up to 125 wind turbines to be constructed across 34,000 acres of leased land from over 175 landowners.

It was one of two long-term wind energy purchase agreements that Geronimo Energy announced today. The agreement with Xcel Energy calls for a total of 400 megawatts of wind energy to be generated at the Odell Wind Farm and the Courtenay Wind Farm in Stutsman County, North Dakota.
