3/7/2013 11:58:00 AM Farm & Home Show officials expect 60-plus booths Saturday
As the Windom Farm & Home Show celebrates its 30th anniversary on Saturday, it appears this major event is showing no signs of slowing down.
Event Chairman Mike LaMaack reports that the total number of booths is at 60 "and growing." That's on par with what organizers typically see in the days leading up to the show.
Saturday's show will again be held at Windom Area High School and will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Among the top new additions to this year's show is a gigantic plastic inflatable "Mega Heart" - if organizers can fit it in the building. The heart, which is sponsored by Sanford Health and Windom Area Hospital, measures 17 feet wide and 21 feet high.
The Zoo Man - year in and year out one of the biggest hits for area youngsters - is back for multiple Saturday shows. Another highlight for youngsters is the children's petting zoo, which is sponsored by Windom FFA. Among the other strong attractions are the always-popular quilt show and scenes performed by Windom's Sound of Music cast. Also, back by popular demand is the remote control helicopter show.
