Reinbows bringing Bardwell
to BARC Auditorium Saturday
Reinbows, Inc., in Windom is bringing national motivational speaker Bob Bardwell to the BARC Auditorium Saturday at 7 p.m.
Admission is $10 for adults and $7.50 for students. Advanced tickets are available at the Windom Area Chamber office, BARC, at the door, or by calling Leah Jones at (507) 822-0526.
Bardwell is the founder and camp director of Ironwood Springs, but more importantly, an inspiration to all who have met him. Bardwell was paralyzed from the waist down in a 1973 construction accident.
But that hasn't slowed him down.
A former collegiate wrestler and member of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame, Bardwell has competed in nearly 300 races since his accident, including three straight wins in the Twin Cities Marathon. In all, he has collected 75 first-place trophies as a racer.
As if that isn't enough, Bardwell also is an inspirational and motivational speaker who has authored a book, Marathons of Life.
Bardwell's motivational speach will center around "It's not what happens to you; it's what you do about it."
Reinbows, Inc., is a Windom nonprofit organization that offers anti-bullying seminars for school children, self-esteem and self-management programs, girls support groups, after-school tutoring, horse camps and programs for the elderly.
