Cottonwood County Historical Society Director Linda Fransen always has some new ideas in mind when it comes to offering visitors to the local museum a new experience.
Often the problem standing in the way of those new offerings is money.
But that won't be the case when she and the CCHS embark on efforts to upgrade and expand the Exhibit Hall's Military Exhibit. The Minnesota Historical Society awarded a $19,000 grant to the CCHS for that very purpose.
And how will that money be used?
Fransen says the grant dollars will be used primarily for software design and hardware purchases. "We've hired a firm out of Minneapolis, Sandbox Studios, to create a software program for us to input all of these names," Fransen explains. "Photos, obituaries, anything that can be scanned can go into this program. They came on in November, so we're already in the process.
"This is for the military people to be recognized."
