New elected officials offer views on 2013
For folks starting new political offices, January is like taking that first step in a pure meadow of new snow.
A fresh world awaits, brimming with hope and challenges. Recently, the region saw countless officials sworn into office. One of those, Brian Cooley, was among four officials who recently offered their 2013 views for the Cottonwood County Citizen.
As he enters his first foray into political office, the Windom city council, Brian Cooley already has a good feel for some of the key issues that lie ahead.
"I really want to get some heavy discussion going on the fire hall," Cooley said. "I would like to find some way to fund it because I think the guys deserve it, the community deserves it."
Cooley is also ready to discuss the future of the ice arena.
"Not long ago, I went to the Redwood Falls facility and took a walk around," Cooley said. "It is really impressive. I don't see how a town Windom's size couldn't have something like that."
