Santa gets huge welcome
during annual Windom visit
Friday's high winds died down just enough to allow Santa's sleigh to land safely for his traditional grand arrival in Windom.
Santa rolled through the Square at 6 p.m., right on schedule. And, according to one of Santa's helpers, he visited with 110 local youngsters.
As has been recent tradition, Santa took his seat next to the giant Christmas tree inside the Courthouse rotunda. (After decades of greeting youngsters on the chilly Courthouse steps, Santa finally moved the event indoors a few years ago.)
Plans are for Santa to make his next appearance Dec. 3, at the Hair Hut, from 4-7 p.m.
