Salvation Army issues Bell Ringing challenge
Area residents can expect to see - and hear - another sure sign the holidays have arrived.
The clanging of bells and the sight of red kettles will be dotting Cottonwood County sidewalks and store fronts starting today (Wednesday) and running through Christmas Eve (Dec. 24).
The Salvation Army is encouraging all businesses, big or small, to get their employees involved in the Christmas Kettle campaign. Employers can challenge their employees by offering an incentive to "out-raise" the business next door.
Groups such as the Red Hatters, bowling teams or athletic teams can challenge other groups or teams. These are just a few suggestions how the community can come together to help those less fortunate.
By donating to the red kettles, or offering your time to bell ring, you can make a difference in the lives of those
The Salvation Army touches throughout the year.
All donations stay in Cottonwood County.
If you, your family or organization is able to assist with bell-ringing, or if you have any questions, contact April, the Cottonwood County Salvation Army representative, at 831-1278.
If your group or organization would rather make a donation, you may send your donations to: The Salvation Army, Christmas Kettle Campaign, P.O. Box 9, Windom, MN 56101.
