New judge to be sworn in on Nov. 21

Plans are set for Christina Wietzema to be sworn in Nov. 21 as the new District Court Judge for the fifth judicial district.

Wietzema, a former member of the public defender's office in Worthington, will be sworn in at the Cottonwood County Courthouse at 2 p.m. She will serve courts in both Cottonwood and Murray counties. She takes over for Judge Bruce Gross who announced his retirement earlier this year.

Christina and her husband, Todd, have two sons ages 10 and 12 and live in Worthington. She is a Pierz native and graduated from Hamline University Law School in 1993.
Wietzema has worked as an attorney in Worthington since 1993.
