The Windom Eagle baseball team couldn't get the bats going Tuesday afternoon, falling 2-1 at Worthington.

The Eagles stranded runners in scoring position in five different innings, including leaving runners at third base in four innings.

The lone Eagle run scored in the top of the third. Luke Gilbertson led off with a single, stole second and scored on an Alex Borsgard double.

Worthington tied the game in the bottom of the fourth, then took the lead on a two-out RBI double in the sixth.

Gilbertson had three of the Eagles' four hits in the game.

Noah Kloss took the tough luck complete-game loss, holding the Trojans to five hits without a walk. He struck out two.

Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey pitchers Dylan Hillesheim and Abraham Stoesz were dominant Tuesday as the Wolverines swept a doubleheader from Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove at Mt. Lake.

MLAC took the opener by a 1-0 score as Hillesheim tossed a two-hit shutout, walking two and striking out 10.

The lone run for the Wolverines scored in the bottom of the first. Brett Willaby drew a leadoff walk, moved up on two wild pitches and scored on a Hillesheim groundout.

Willaby and Race Regier had the lone hits in the game for MLAC.

Jonah Hansen and Mason Irlbeck had the lone hits for RRC/WWG. Trenton Halvorson took the loss, allowing two hits and four walks while striking out three.

In the nightcap, Stoesz baffled the Falcon hitters, tossing a no-hitter in a 14-1 Wolverine win. Stoesz walked three and struck out nine.

MLAC got on the board in the first inning when Willaby scored on a fielder's choice grounder by Drake Harder.

RRC/WWG tied the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the third. Sam Hansen walked, moved to third on an errant pickoff attempt and scored on a Calvin Anderson grounder.

The Wolverine offense erupted for seven runs in the fourth inning and six more in the fifth. In the fourth, Willaby, Zach Spinks and Hillesheim each had RBI singles, Harder had an RBI double, Regan Syverson hit a two-run single and a run scored on a wild pitch.

In the fifth, Fletcher Hanson hit a two-run double. The Wolverines added a run on a wild pitch and two runs on errors.
