Heron Lake Bioenergy begins subdebt offering this week

It appears a mailing that goes out this week will help mold the future of the Heron Lake Bioenergy ethanol plant.

A subdebt offering will be mailed out to the plant's members on Tuesday or Wednesday, according to Bob Ferguson, general manager of the plant.

"The debenture offering will go out to our members and they will have a period of about 20 days to decide whether to invest," said Ferguson who is optimistic about the offering. "If after the 20 days we do not reach the minimum target of $5 million, we could go out and seek non-members to invest."

For much more on this story, see this week's Cottonwood County Citizen and Citizen eEdition.
