The Cottonwood County Historical Society recently announced the winners in its 2013 Cottonwood County Student Art Show, which was on display in the Remick Gallery during April.
The list includes:
"Best of Show," which was awarded to Cierra Bents of Red Rock Ridge Alternative Learning Center with her untitled pencil drawing.
"First Place," which went to Marissa San Miguel, also of RRRALC, with her untitled acrylic painting.
"People's Choice Award," which was a tie between homeschool student Sarah Moller with her watercolor titled Relentless Time and Stephanie Royark of RRRALC with her colored pencil drawing Black and Red Rythym.
Those receiving honorable mention include Shane Buchmann of Westbrook-Walnut Grove Public School; Hideyuki Toda of Mt. Lake Public School, Stephanie Royark and Angela Martinez DelaRosa of RRRALC, Nolan Jones of Windom Area High School, Spencer Jenniges of Red Rock Central High School and Sarah Moller.
The exhibit featured art work of senior high students from throughout Cottonwood County. More than 50 works of art were displayed this year.
"Congratulations to all the winners and a big thank you to the teachers and students who participated," said Linda Fransen, CCHS director. "It was a great exhibit."
