Farm Bureau Federation donates books
Winfair Elementary kindergartners looked over the eight books added to the Winfair Elementary library recently, thanks to a donation by the Cottonwood County Farm Bureau Federation.
The eight books, four for grades K-3 and four for grades 2-5, are a continuation of the "A to Z Books" series.
The Federation began donating the books five years ago to school and public libraries as part of a program to get agricultural books into the libraries. Winfair Elementary isn't the only library to receive the books. Each public library and elementary school library in the county also received the eight books.
More books in the series are expected to be added in the future.
Mike Wojahn, president of the Cottonwood County Farm Bureau Federation, presented the books to Winfair kindergartners (from left) Kaylee Walklin, Eric Buss, Ryder Riordan and James Erickson.
The books focus on soybeans, corn, pigs and pork, and beef cattle, in the "Awesome Agriculture" series for grades K-3 and the "Story of Agriculture" series for grades 2-5.
