If there was one constant in the 2012 Citizen Police Reports, it was the word "disturbance."
At least 168 entries in the 2012 Police Reports were classified as "disturbances." Of those, 48 were considered domestic disputes, 38 were noise complaints and 22 involved "unwanted guests."
The noise issue has been a thorn in the police department's side for some time now.
"If people are going to have get-togethers, we ask that they be considerate of their neighbors," said Windom Police Chief Scott Peterson. "We don't necessarily have to give a warning. An officer has a lot of options, anything from a warning, to a citation, to a custodial arrest. If warnings are not heeded, we are prepared to go to the next step."
